We have just completed our 2025 planting season, with just under 4000 polytunnel grown saltmarsh plants used to help restore saltmarshes along the Tay and Eden Estuaries and in Dornoch Firth. The volunteers who helped us did amazing work in muddy conditions and still came away with smiles.

One of our volunteers got in touch with us after joining us on a planting event and told us:

“I really enjoyed myself, I felt that my contribution was meaningful and there was the added bonus of substantial learning for me as a complete newbie to conservation. I also really enjoyed the company. It was by far the most enjoyable volunteering experience I have had.” -Sunny

Here’s some photos taken over the 2025 planting season; happy, muddy volunteers.

Many thanks go to our fantastic regular volunteers who helped us grow the plants in the polytunnel and the planting volunteers (some of whom are the same people) who gave over 200 hours of their time to help get the plants into the estuaries.

We’ve already started propagating for the 2026 planting season.
